Two members of our fire family are going through hard times. Chief Ken Smithgall has dedi-cated 17 years to the citizens of Marion County. His loving wife, Eve, has been fighting a losing battle with brain cancer for over 5 years with their two children by their side. Mike Martin has dedicated many years to MCFR as fleet manager ensuring vehicle safety and readiness for ser-vice to the citizens of Marion county. Mike has been battling cancer for 3 years and has been recently re-diagnosed with liver cancer. Mike is a single full time parent with a loving son.
